DeJ Loaf Energizes Crowd at the Annual Nittany Block Party

As we look to another promising fall semester here at Penn State, it’s only right to start things off with a performance by Detroit’s very own Dej Loaf at the Nittany Block Party during Welcome Week celebrations.

The annual Student Programming Association (SPA) promoted event was a success to say the least. Upon exiting the HUB and stepping onto Pollock Road, electric beats pulsated and permeated the summer evening air.

With a diverse crowd of concertgoers ranging from first-year freshmen excited to get a taste of their first major Penn State event, to the experienced upperclassmen racking up as many events as possible before they graduate, everyone danced and mingled as the sun went down and the multicolored stage lights blazed on.

DJs A x D kept the audience pumped and ready for DeJ Loaf to hit the stage, and when she did, everyone went wild. Judging from a few of the audience member’s reactions, she was well worth the wait and met everyone’s hopes and expectations.

Singing some of her hits such as “We Be On It” and “Back Up,” song after song her fans belted her lyrics and cheered her on as she interacted with the receptive crowd.
Overall, DeJ Loaf gave an outstanding performance and managed to gain the necessary support and publicity from Penn State to support her upcoming and soon to be finished album. If there’s anything to take from this Welcome Week performance, it’s that exciting times lie ahead this semester at Penn State.
