The Pollock Homecoming Party and Dance Competition took place Monday afternoon to kick off homecoming week. The festivities took place in the Pollock Courtyard in the Pollock Residence Halls from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The carnival was filled with food, inflatable rides, and games for Penn Staters to enjoy along with live entertainment. In addition to the festivities, banners from the annual banner competition were also on display.

The dance competition brought out quite a crowd. Students from all over campus came to to support the fellow dance teams. Freshmen were able to see the hard work that these dancers put in for the semester so far. Dance groups that performed yesterday were, RAM Squad, Ambitions, Whiplash, Penn State Dance Alliance, Urban Dance Troupe, and more.

At the end of the competition, the judges gave out two special awards. Ambitions received an award for the best rendition of For the Glory. The best choreography award went to Penn State Dance Alliance. Even though Urban Dance Troupe performed last, they certainly gave a grade A performance. They earned first place. Whiplash and RAM squad followed right after with second and third place.

The Pollock Party and Homecoming Dance competition were the first of many events to happen this week. Check out the list of activities for the rest of this week leading up to the Homecoming football game.
