BSU and ASA Team up for ‘Welcome Black Week’
Penn State’s Black Student Union (BSU) and African Student Association (ASA) will host ‘Welcome Black Week,’ a chance for new students to get acclimated to campus as well as a chance for returning students to socialize with each other from Monday Jan. 9 until Sunday, Jan. 15.
The week kicks off on Monday at the Penn State student involvement fair, where both groups will attend from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m
On Tuesday, the pair will host a game night ft. at the Penta Org Lipsync Battle in West Study Lounge starting at 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday’s activity is a screening of Coming to America along with post-flim discussion in 220 Thomas.
On Thursday, the organizations will host an ice cream social during the day and a late night event for dues paying members only.
On Friday the groups will host Fun Friday in the Paul Robeson Cultural Center in the HUB from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. as well as a Jumat Meer Up in the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center at 11:50 a.m. ASA will also host a General body meeting at 6 p.m. in 201 Thomas.
Over the weekend, the groups have a Saturday morning ASA x BSU Cares event along with a potluck and social later that night. The week concludes on Sunday with a group trip to Unity Church for a church service.
