Penn State’s Writers Organized to Represent Diverse Stories (W.O.R.D.S.), a slam poetry team that focuses on creating a safe environment for personal stories and experiences, will be holding their second annual State Slam on Wednesday, March 15th, 2017 in Freeman Auditorium in the HUB from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Their 2017 College Unions Poetry Slam Invitational (CUPSI) team showcases the poems they will perform at the Invitational in April.

CUPSI is an annual Poetry Slam tournament organized by the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) in which many college and university slam poetry teams compete against each other for one ultimate title. Penn State’s CUPSI team competed for the first time in 2015.

The event will feature and be hosted by slam poet Siaara Freeman. ‘
