State Champs, Don Broco to Perform in Alumni Hall
Penn State’s Student Programming Association (SPA) announced Monday that pop punk band State Champs will perform in Alumni Hall at the HUB-Robeson Center along with English rock band Don Broco on Thursday, April 6 at 8 p.m.
State Champs is based out of Albany, NY. and formed in 2010 with members Derek Discanio,
Tyler Szalkowski, Ryan Scott Graham, Tony Diaz, and Evan Ambrosio.
The group has released three EP’s along with two-full length albums. Their first full length album, The Finer Things was released in 2013 and debuted at number 2 on the Billboard HeatSeekers Albums Chart. In addition, the group toured with the band All Time Low during their Future Hearts tour and have also opened for 5 seconds of summer in Australia and New Zealand.
Opening for the group will be Don Broco, a pop rock, alternative band from Bedford, England. Formed in 2008, the band is best known for their 2012 album Priorities, released in 2012 along with their 2015 album Automatic. The group has performed all around the country, including London’s famed O2 Area as a supporting act for rock band Bring Me The Horizon.
The concert will take place courtesy of SPA’s Entertainment Committee and doors will open for the event around 7:30 p.m. that night. Don Broco will hit the stage at 8:00 p.m. with State Champs performing at 9:30 p.m. Admission for the event is free with a Penn State University Park ID.
