This week, the Beta Lambda Chapter of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. will hold their annual Philanthropy Week.
Monday, April 3rd will kick off the week with Universal Spa at 7:15 P.M. in 22 BBH building. This event will discuss stories of domestic abuse and how those at beauty salons detect it.
Tuesday, April 4th, will feature an event called ‘My Boobies, Not Yours’, which will be held in 110 Thomas at 7:15 P.M.
Wednesday, April 5th, will feature ‘Take Back the Night‘, a march dedicated to celebrate the survivors of domestic and sexual abuse that will start at 6:00 P.M. at Old Main Steps. There will be a candle light vigil at the end of the march.
Thursday, April 6th, ‘Taken’, a program describing the ends and outs of sex trafficking, will be held at 7:15 P.M. in 111 Thomas.
Friday, April 7th, will conclude Philanthropy week with Sister Penn Wars between 11 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. at a table in the HUB.
Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. is the first Latina sorority, founded in 1975. The sorority’s goal is to “provide a sisterhood based on unity, love and respect in an effort to foster the development of strong leaders who will then provide and practice political, social and cultural activities.” The Beta Lambda Chapter has been on Penn State’s campus since October 25, 1999.
