PRCC to host “The Stoop” Thursday
The Paul Robeson Cultural Center (PRCC) will host the “The Stoop” Thursday, a night full of live art, dance, poetry, and music.
This year’s event will be hosted by Jerrie Johnson, a Penn State alumna.
Danez Smith, a poet from St. Paul, MN will perform during the event. Smtih is the author of works such as “Don’t Call Us Dead” and “hands on your knees.” His work has been featured in the New York Times, PBS NewsHour, Buzzfeed and more.

In addition to Smith, Elizabeth Acevedo will also perform. Acevedo is a poet and writer from New York City and holds awards such as a National Slam Champion, Beltway Grand Slam Champion, and the 2016 Women of the World Poetry Slam representative for Washington, D.C. In addition, she is the author of the chapbook “Beastgirl & Other Origin Myths” and a forthcoming novel, “The Poet X.”
Doors open for “The Stoop” at 6:30 p.m. in the HUB-Robeson Center’s Heritage Hall and food will be served at 7:00 p.m.
